- Kuntur Wasi***
Imposing legacy of pre-Hispanic architecture, its construction dates from year 1.100 BC. This ceremonial center is characterized to be formed by platforms and superposed seats, maintained by enormous stone walls, on which some enclosures existed.
More ahead, approximately by year 700 BC., this ceremonial center was covered with earth and stones, to rise a new ceremonial complex of greater dimension, than counted on a main platform and soon, towards 250 year BC., the complex again was devastated, reason why the establishment moved to a place known like Cerro Blanco.
In our days, already from 1.988, a group of archaeologists of the University of Tokyo, with the support of communal groups, are studying this important legacy of Kuntur Wasi. One of the most surprising findings is constituted by tombs in which were corpses covered with red colorantes together with offerings and diverse objects.
